Hip Kids Boutique was started in August 2009, out of a mother's desire to make pretty headbands for little girls. Soon, sales were made to friends, relatives and through word of mouth. The headbands caught the attention of a local magazine and was being featured in their August 2010 issue.

When her own little girl was born in late 2010, she started letting her wear her headband creations. The pretty headbands drew positive comments from relatives, friends and even passers-by. With the support from her husband and encouragement from family and friends, she decided to launch this online store, so that more little girls can get to wear these lovely, handmade hair accessories.
